Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Dean, Academic Affairs and over all supervision of the Director, the incumbent shall perform the following role and responsibilities; (i) Provide teaching, research assistance and study materials to teaching staff; (ii) Conduct library and internet-based research in the fields of social work in collaboration with teaching and research staff including honorary members; (iii) Undertake research and academic activities offered under BSW LLB degree programme; (iv) Organize workshops, trainings, conferences and seminars for stakeholders in relevant areas; (v) Publish policy papers, reports on cutting edge issues, Carry out surveys, undertake field visits for collection of data and preparation of regular research reports in respective area; (vi) Coordinate and plan various events in coordination with faculty members including seminars, round table discussions and conferences; (vii) Develop, plan, execute, monitor and report interdisciplinary research in collaboration with external universities, institutions, government departments, industrial and economic agencies, judiciary within India and abroad; (viii) Provide research, counselling and drafting assistance received from external institutions and individuals pertaining to social issues in consultation with legal experts in relevant areas; (ix) Undertake training and awareness programs for various communities, institutions, individual groups, etc. on sociolegal issues; (x) Undertake survey on a regular basis to prepare reports, documents for the perusal of the policy-making institutions; (xi) Perform any other duties including administrative, coordination, etc. as required to achieve the aims and objectives of the University

Education Requirements: (i) Master Degree in Social Work with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) from any Indian Universities. (ii) Good knowledge of latest national and international research trends and developments in the area of Social Work; (iii) Ability to conceptualize and organize international training workshops and brainstorming online/on-site discussions apart from teaching/Research. (iv) Fluency in English language is mandatory.

Desirable Qualifications: (i) Master Degree in Social Work with LL.B; (ii) Preference shall be given to the candidates having UGCNET or PhD as per UGC Regulation 2009, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university; (iii) Teaching and research experience in premier law universities/colleges in the area of social sciences and law; (iv) Working knowledge of Gujarati; (v) Excellent inter-personal and team-building skills; (vi) Ability to innovate new ideas and improve academic programmes or services. (vii) Ability to organize training and undertake travel in various parts of Gujarat.

Date & Time of Interview: 11 th January, 2016 at 1300-1400 hrs

General Information:  This appointment is initially for one year and may be renewed depending upon the performance of the incumbent and the needs of the University.  The candidates who fulfill the qualifications/experience are required to bring three copies their CV (With photo on each copy) on the day of interview duly indicating the post applied for and bring with them the original certificates of qualification/ experience for verification.  Reporting time for walk in Interview: Monday, 11 th January, 2016 at 1300-1400 hrs.
